Orrville City Council members have approved the purchase of a new ladder truck for the city’s fire department.  The truck, which will feature a 100-foot ladder, is considered to be the largest purchase in the fire department’s history.  It will replace the fire department’s current truck, which has an 80-foot ladder, and is now more than 20 years old.  City officials say the new truck has an estimated price tag of $2.2 million, and is expected to be delivered no later than 2027.
