City council members in Orrville have voted against a proposal that would have allowed residents to raise chickens and rabbits within city limits.  At council’s most recent meeting, members narrowly rejected the ordinance by a 4-3 vote, following the proposal’s third and final reading.  The ordinance, which was introduced last summer by former councilman John Lorson, sought to grant Orrville citizens the right to own up to six chickens and/or rabbits, so long as they were fenced in at all times.
