The Orrville City School District is the first in the nation to enroll in a program that looks at ways to implement new health and wellness strategies for students.  As part of the WELL Portfolio program, which is based out of New York City, the district will be assigned a wellness coach who will help carryout those strategies.  A WELL spokesperson says strategies could be design-based, like modifying where water fountains are located, or things like how much time students spend learning in nature, which is policy-based.  Other areas that the wellness coach may focus on include air filtration systems, a student’s access to daylight and movement breaks throughout the day.
