City council members in Orrville have approved the purchase of a new heavy duty rescue pumper truck to replace one of the fire department’s older models.  The purchase is being paid for through the city’s capital fund. The new vehicle is projected to arrive sometime in 2026.  Also at its meeting this week, council agreed to seek a grant from the Department of Energy to install smart grid meters.  The smart electrical grid project will start next year and cover 90% of the city’s utility customers.
