Orrville officials have made a change to the city’s Community Reinvestment Area, which will provide greater incentive for those looking to renovate historic buildings in the city’s downtown district.  The amendment will allow, on a case-by-case basis, up to a 100% tax abatement for up to 15 years on renovation projects.  Up until now, the city has never offered more than a 50% abatement for such projects, while the typical time frame for abatements has been roughly ten tears, rather than fifteen.
