An Orrville man is dead after falling from the Dover Dam. According to authorities in Tuscarawas County, 56-year old Walter Rogers fell roughly 50 feet from the dam’s observation deck on Sunday afternoon. A friend of Rogers told deputies he slipped and fell while attempting to climb down onto a ledge where he had seen some coins. Rogers was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation, although authorities say they do not suspect that any kind of foul play was involved.
