The Ninth District Court of Appeals has overturned an Orrville man’s aggravated murder conviction, meaning that he could be getting a new trial.  A Jury three years ago convicted 71-year old Paul Claren of killing a 21-year old neighbor in the summer of 2016, but the appeals court ruled on Monday that jurors at the time were not properly instructed on how to consider Clarin’s claim that he acted in self-defense.  Should it decide to challenge the court’s reversal, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office has 45 days to file an appeal.
