An area school teacher will be in New England next week to run in the Boston Marathon. 38-year old Elle Shumney, a physical education teacher at Orrville Elementary, is a native of Wayne County, graduating from Orrville High School back in 2003. She ran her first marathon in 2012 and since that time has completed 26 marathons in 11 different states. This will be Shumney’s first time though running in Boston, where she’ll be joined by more than 30,000 runners from all over the world. Shumney says one of her goals is to complete a marathon in all 50 states. After running in Boston on Monday, she says her next bucket list race will be the New York City Marathon.
