Federal investigators have cited an Orrville business with multiple safety violations following an accident last winter in which an employee’s thumb was cut off.  The accident took place at Quality Castings while the worker was performing maintenance on a machine.  The OSHA report, which says another Quality Castings worker was nearly injured in a similar manner last year, states the company failed to train employees in proper safety procedures and did not protect workers during machine maintenance.  For the two citations, OSHA fined Quality Castings $170,000.  The company has until July 5th to pay up.
