The San Deigo Padres defeated the Philadelphia Phillies by a final score of 8-5 in Game 2 of the NLCS on Wednesday night, tying the series at 1-1.

For San Diego, the Padres were down 4-0 in the middle of the 2nd inning, but would then score eight unanswered runs through the end of the 7th. Some of the big players for San Diego were designated hitter Josh Bell and first baseman Brandon Drury, with Bell going 3-4 with two RBIs and Drury going 2-4 with three RBIs.

Starting pitcher Blake Snell got the win for going 5.0 innings, striking out six batters and allowing five hits for four earned runs. Closer Josh Hader got the save for going 1.0 inning and striking out all three batters that he faced.

For Philadelphia, first baseman Rhys Hoskins and third baseman Alec Bohm both went 1-4 with an RBI each. Starting pitcher Aaron Nola suffered the loss for going 4.2 innings, striking out six batters and allowing seven hits for six earned runs.

Game 3 of the NLCS between the Padres and the Phillies will be in Philadelphia on Friday, October 21st, with first pitch set for 7:37 p.m.
