More than 250 people took part in a charity 5k and polar plunge in Chippewa Lake Saturday. The annual event drew people from all over to take part in the 5k run/walk and to take an icy dip in Chippewa Lake. The event, which raises money to help various charities, including the Society for Handicapped Citizens of Medina County, helped to raise over $22,000 as of their initial count. The polar plunge also helped local firefighters train to deal with cold water rescues, as they helped those that jumped in and out of the water.
