On Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at around 6:30 a.m., members of the Orrville Police Department initiated a manhunt in the southern part of Orrville for murder suspect Shaun Ross. The search was subsequently expanded beyond the city limits of Orrville, and assistance was requested from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Ariel Unit, Troopers, Medway Drug Enforcement Agency, and Wooster Police Department.
After several hours of searching, a resident on Church Road, situated between SR57 and Kansas Road, contacted the authorities to report a male individual who matched the description of Shaun Ross walking down his driveway. Officers, with guidance from the OSHP Ariel Unit, swiftly converged on the area, and Ross was apprehended at approximately 10:30 a.m.
Subsequently, Ross was transported from the scene to the Orrville Police Department, where he later confessed to investigators. Ross is currently in custody and will be transferred to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office to face charges related to the murder of Jessica Duprey.
