A portion of West Lebanon Road has been renamed in honor of two brothers from Dalton who were killed in the Vietnam War. West Lebanon, between US Route 30 and the north end of Goudy Road, will now be known as Lance Corporal Larry Porter and Private Roy Porter Memorial Highway. Larry Porter was killed in June of 1968, while Roy Porter died in August of 1969, both at the age of 19. The segment of roadway dedicated to the Porters was chosen because it is near the area where the brothers grew up.
