A preliminary hearing that was scheduled for yesterday was continued until February 29th for the Loudonville man accused of shooting a police officer and female hostage during a standoff Sunday in Ontario.  Richland County’s prosecutor requested that Thursday’s hearing be continued because the state’s witnesses in the case were unable to attend.  The defense said it had no issues with the continuance.  In the meantime, 32-year old Jareth Vance is being held in the Richland County Jail on a $1 million bond.
