Renovation work continues at Freer Field in Ashland, with the city hoping to reopen the park completely by the end of the year. A new pavilion, park offices, picnic tables, community rooms and bathrooms are being worked on, and the city hopes with the renovations and upgrades it will open Freer Field to host more events in the future. Funding for the project came in the form of a levy that was passed last year, with the total cost of the project having a price tag of $500,000. The parking lots are also being expanded, going from being able to hold 8 cars to 40. A full unveiling is expected later this month.
