Former securities broker Eric Bartoli is set to be resentenced in federal court.  Bartoli was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison in 2016 for a fraud scheme that saw him bilk investors out of more than $42 million. The 20 year sentence was more than double what had been agreed to as part of a plea agreement. The 65 year-old finally won an appeal in the case when the U.S. Attorney’s office did concede that the maximum penalties were used in the sentence. Bartoli was originally indicted on the charges in 2003 before fleeing to Peru before being arrested and extradited back to the US in 2013.
