Several protests and gatherings are planned throughout the weekend in Medina in support of national protests against police brutality in the wake of the death of George Floyd in Minnesota. The protest are set to be peaceful, but Medina Police Chief Ed Kinney said the department will be staffed and ready should anything get out of hand. Medina County Together will be the first of the rallies on Saturday, which will run from 1-3 p.m. on the Medina Square, a prayer vigil will be held from 4-6 p.m. Saturday on the square, led by Reverend Arthur Ruffin. The final event of the weekend will be held on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. on the square held by Concerned Citizens for Medina County.
