Several turtles and tortoises were rescued yesterday afternoon from a shed fire in Medina County. Officials say there were ten turtles and two tortoises living inside the shed. Firefighters gave the animals oxygen, but unfortunately about half of the turtles died. It is believed that one of the heating elements used to warm the turtles is what caused the fire.
