The State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a one-vehicle accident that claimed the life of a Shreve man. The incident happened Saturday morning just after 7:00 AM on State Route 3, just north of Funk Road, in Wayne County’s Clinton Township. Authorities say that a jeep driven by 48-year-old James Patterson was traveling northbound on State Route 3, as he apparently lost control off the right side off the road. The jeep then reportedly struck a guardrail and overturned several times. Patterson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The State Highway Patrol believes that impairment was a factor in the crash.
