A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held recently for Smithville High School’s newly renovated weight room. The renovation was made possible with the help of several grants, along with a community fundraising campaign, which brought in a combined $62,000. That money allowed the Green Local District to not only buy new weight lifting equipment, but also put in a new ceiling and floor, and update the weight room’s lighting.
