The village of Spencer will have something they haven’t had in nearly a decade, a gas station in the village limits. Ground was broken on Tuesday for the new Sunoco gas station that will be just North of the railroad tracks on State Route 301 next to Spencer Feed and Supply. The station will only have pumps and no day-to-day in person employees with work on the project expected to be finished in October. This is the first gas station to be put in the village since the station on State Route 162 closed almost a decade ago but is not the first proposed station the village has heard from, as others, including a marathon, tried to get into the village without any luck.
