Stark County man killed in an attempted robbery

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office says that one man was killed and another wounded in an attempted robbery Friday afternoon near Minerva. The incident took place just after 2:30 PM at the Skyland Hills Mobile Home Park along U.S. Route 30. It’s believed that two men and a woman attempted to rob a 22-year-old man at his residence in an apparent drug-related issue. The man was found by deputies deceased from a single gunshot wound. The second person shot is one of the alleged robbers, and was treated at a Canton-area hospital. It appears that he was shot by the victim in self-defense. Authorities are still trying to piece out exactly what happened during the incident.
