The state released its annual public school report cards yesterday morning.  Schools used to be evaluated on an A thru F grading system, but the Ohio Department of Education went away from that method last year and now uses a five-star rating system.  Schools are rated in six categories: achievement, progress, early literacy, gap closing, graduation and readiness.  Locally, in Wayne County, Dalton and Green Local received an overall rating of five stars.  Chippewa, Rittman and Southeast Local earned four and a half stars, while Norwayne and Triway were awarded four stars.  Wooster, Orrville and Northwestern all received a three and a half star rating.  In Holmes County, East Holmes Local earned a four-star rating and West Holmes Local came in at three stars.  The report cards for each district can be viewed on the Ohio Department of Education’s website.
