Authorities are investigating an explosion yesterday in Wooster that injured three employees at a biosolid processing facility. Fire crews were called out to a possible explosion at the Quasar Energy Group facility on Secrest Road. Three people were hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries.
The explosion took place in a unit that processes biosolids, including food waste and manure. The structure collects methane gas build-up.
An official cause for the explosion has not yet been determine
Wooster fire is working with the Wayne County Emergency Management Agency, Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, Ohio Fire Marshal’s Office and a Quasar representative to limit any potential environmental impact.
