Following the Cleveland Indians diappointing loss to the Boston Red Sox at home on Friday night, the Tribe then followed up with another loss to Boston in a 5-3 loss in 10 innings. The Red Sox came out the gate early with a solo homerun by ourfielder Kyle Schwarber and another run off a fielding error in the 1st inning, making it 2-0. The Indians bounced back and tied the game in the bottom of the 2nd with a solo homerun by designated hitter Franmil Reyes, his 24th of the season, and an RBI single by first baseman Bobby Bradley. After that, the defenses for both teams stepped up and kept the game scoreless until the 10th inning. In the 10th, Boston took the lead with a 3-run homerun by designated hitter J.D. Martinez, making it 5-2. The Indians attempted to make a comeback and win the game with bases loaded and no outs at one point in the bottom of the 10th, but the Tribe only got one run in the inning due to an RBI single by pinch hitter Oscar Mercado and losing the game 5-3. Indians starting pitcher Cal Quantrill went 7 complete innings and struck out 6 batters, while allowing 1 earned run on 6 hits.
