One man is dead and two people were seriously injured following a  two-vehicle crash Saturday morning in Wayne County’s Wayne Township. The accident happened at around 8:40 AM at the intersection of State Route 3 and County Road 78. The State Highway Patrol says that 44-year-old Rodney Roper of Wooster was driving a pickup truck west on County Road 78 when he failed to stop at a stop sign. Roper’s truck then collided with another pickup driven by 65-year-old Douglas Arnold of Creston. Arnold, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was killed in the accident. A female passenger in Roper’s truck, 44-year-old Melisa Taylor of Wooster, was taken by helicopter to an Akron hospital with serious injuries. Roper was taken to Wooster Community Hospital, as his injuries are not believed to be  life-threatening. Authorities say that drugs may have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
