The University of Akron has announced that it will offer its paramedic education program at its Orville campus starting next year. Thanks to a partnership between the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital and the University of Akron Wayne College, the 10 month program includes nearly 1,000 hours of clinical training and classroom coursework. The program is being offered after studies showed that Wayne County and surrounding areas lacked training for paramedics. The deadline to register for the new program is November 1st.
