The OHSAA has announced that the University of Dayton Arena will be the site for the girls and boys state basketball tournaments. The decision, announced in a news release Tuesday afternoon, came after the Ohio Department of Health and Public Health — Dayton and Montgomery County approved a variance allowing for a greater number of fans at each game. That number will be announced at a later date.

The girls state tournament will be held March 11-13, while the boys tournament will be held March 19-21. The semifinal times will be at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., while the championship game times will be 10:45 a.m., 2 p.m., 5:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The divisional order will be from IV through I. That means Divisions IV and III will be on Thursday, and II and I on Friday. UD Arena had been announced last May as the site for the girls basketball tournaments from 2021-23. The COVID-19 pandemic, though, put the location of the 2021 state tournament in questions due to spectator limitations and costs associated with the tournament.
