The city of Wadsworth’s police department will receive nearly $60,000, thanks to a state grant program supporting the wellness and staffing needs of Ohio’s first responders.  Gov. Mike DeWine announced the grant on Thursday, part of $9.9 million that will be distributed among 62 police and fire departments statewide. The grants are being made available through the new Ohio First Responder Recruitment, Retention and Resilience Program. To date, program has handed out $21 million to 117 different law enforcement agencies across Ohio.
