The Wayne County Airport recently celebrated its new $5.2 million taxiway project.  A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the event.  The full-length taxiway was more than doubled from 2,395 feet to over 51-hundred feet.  It will allow the airport to handle a larger volume of traffic and planes no longer will have to back up on the runway to reach the entry to the taxiway.  The county received a grant for the project last year.  Over the last three years, more than 1,200 aircraft have flown into the Wayne County Airport.
