Wayne County has been awarded a $250,000 grant for traffic safety.  As part of the Safe Streets and Roads for All initiative, the money will be used to implement a comprehensive safety plan for the county, with the goal of reducing roadway fatalities.  The county is currently drawing up an agreement with several different road-related agencies that will lead to the creation of the plan.  The Safe Streets initiative is expected to begin within the next couple of months and run through the end of next year.
