The Wayne County Board of Elections has completed four recounts and an audit of all votes cast in last month’s general election.  The recounts, which took place earlier this month, were held for races where the certified results were within a half percent margin. Dalton’s mayoral race remained tied after a hand count, so the village declared Blake Nussbaum the winner.  Other recounts confirmed results in the races for the City of Wooster’s council at large seat and the Triway Local School District’s Board of Education.  In the City of Wooster’s Ward 1 council race, the results were amended with the recount to declare Lukas Gaffey the winner.  Gaffey won by two votes, after the initial count on the night of the election had him losing to Michael Todaro by three votes.  The board of elections says the audit, which took place on December 11th, was reported to the state with 100% accuracy.
