Wayne County commissioners have approved accepting a $256,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The money comes from the Safe Streets & Roads for All grant. About 80% of the funds are federally reimbursed and 20% come from state license plate fees, gas tax money, and local subdivisions. Commissioners say that this will be the first step in creating a safety plan for county residents.
