The Wayne County Engineer’s Office has been given the green light to conduct some new traffic safety studies. County commissioners recently approved spending more than $100,000 on the safety studies, which will be done as part of a federal program aimed at reducing injuries and fatalities on public roads. So far this year, there have been more than 600 accidents in Wayne County, including five that were fatal.
