Wayne County has once again earned a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.  It is the 26th consecutive year that Wayne County has earned the award.  The GFOA established the award in 1945 to encourage state and local governments to go above and beyond the minimum requirements of accounting principles when preparing their annual comprehensive financial reports.  The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
