Nearly 900 scrap tires from three dozen area farms were recently dropped off at the Wayne County Fairgrounds.  The tires were dropped off during an event called the Ag Tire Roundup. According to the event’s operations manager, 100 percent of the tires will be recycled and reused.  The event, which was a collaborative effort between several local organizations, cost about $25,000 to host.  Funding was provided by grants from the Ohio EPA’s Recycle Ohio program, the Wayne County Health Department and the Stark-Tuscarawas-Wayne Recycling District.
