The West Holmes Local School District’s board of education has agreed to purchase 55 acres of land adjacent to the high school.  The land is being purchased for $25,000 per acre, for a total cost of $1.3 million.  This is the second time the district has tried to buy the land.  The first time was back in 1997, when the high school was being built.  The district says it has no immediate plans for the land, but 10 or 15 years down the road could use it to move forward with another road access, since traffic can get a little backed up with the high school having just one entrance.
