The Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce is urging the city to reconsider a proposed 2024 funding model that would leave the chamber without its usual source of funding. For nearly two decades, Wooster has used bed tax money to fund Main Street Wooster, the chamber and the Wayne County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Wooster officials say the proposal is not set in stone and any changes to the distribution of tax dollars would first need the approval of city council.
