Wooster City Schools is proud to announce the hiring of Che Richardson as our next Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach. Che is a graduate of Canton McKinley High School where he finished his basketball career 2nd Team All Federal League and 2nd Team All Stark County. Che played collegiate basketball at Malone University where he was a four year starter and team captain for two years. He has been coaching for eight years and his last stint of coaching was as a top Varsity Assistant at McKinley High School the past four years. Che holds a Master of Education degree in School Counseling from Malone University and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Bowling Green State University. In addition to coaching basketball within the District, Che will also join the Edgewood Middle School staff as a school counselor.

I’m very eager to get started this summer and to start building relationships with returning players, as well as the community. I am committed to working diligently to ensure that our program continues to move in the right direction,” said Richardson.

Wooster High School will host a “Meet the Coach” event on Wednesday, May 24th at 7 PM in the WHS Main Gym for all Wooster youth, middle school, and high school boys basketball players and parents to meet Coach Richardson.
