City council members in Wooster have approved a 10-year, 75 percent tax abatement for E-Pak Manufacturing.  Council passed an ordinance for the abatement at its meeting on Monday night.  The abatement will reportedly save E-Pak between $80,000 and $115,000, allowing the company to build a new 13,000 square-foot manufacturing facility along Henry Street.  City officials say that the new facility could generate more than $120,000 in new property and income tax revenue.  Not everyone though is happy about the project.  Some nearby residents have expressed their concerns about how noisy the new facility might be, but E-Pak says plans are in place to either plant trees or build a fence to help lessen the noise.
