Council members in Wooster have approved an ordinance that will allow people walking and shopping downtown to carry and drink alcohol out in the open. As part of the new Designated Outdoor Drinking Area, 17 downtown businesses will be permitted to sell drinks that can be consumed within the drinking area’s boundaries. Hours for the outdoor drinking area will be four to eleven, Monday through Friday, with extended hours on weekends.
