Wooster City Council has approved a measure that would compensate Wayne Township if the city annexes 13 parcels of township land.  The parcels surround the intersection of Oak Hill and Milltown roads and currently generate $2,900 annually for the township in real estate taxes.   If annexed by the city, Wayne Township would lose that revenue.  According to the approved ordinance, the city outlined three payment options to Wayne Township, as required by the Ohio Revised Code, over a 15-year time frame.  The 13 parcels are part of the city’s Tax Increment Financing Plan that would help pay for road improvements along Oak Hill and Milltown roads.
