The city of Wooster is considering decriminalizing most parking violations.  When they return from their summer recess in September, city council members will vote on legislation that would repeal the city’s criminal parking violations bureau, meaning that people who get a parking ticket would deal with a civil bureau member, rather than a judge.  According to the city, the change would not affect how the Wooster Police Department enforces parking violations, but it would make it cheaper and easier to fight a parking ticket.
