A Wooster man was arrested early yesterday morning following a 35-minute, high-speed chase through Richland County.  The incident began when troopers from the Ashland post of the Highway Patrol started to pursue 43-year old Arthur Cook on a report of a stolen vehicle out of Wooster. Troopers, however, lost Cook just after midnight when he allegedly began driving the wrong way on U.S. Route 30.  Deputies from Richland County later found the vehicle abandoned behind a barn.  While they were busy searching the area for Cook, he hopped into one of the deputy’s pickup trucks, which led to another high-speed chase.  Cook was eventually apprehended when he ran over some stop sticks and drove into a muddy field near Mansfield.  Cook was arraigned yesterday morning on a charge of failure to comply. He remains jailed on a $200,000 cash bond.
