A dedication ceremony was held this week at Wooster Memorial Park, as it was formally inducted into the Old-Growth Forest Network. The park, which covers 425 acres, including 330 that are forested, is the second Wayne County forest to join the network, following the Johnson Woods State Nature Preserve’s induction back in 2018. The organization’s mission is to connect people with nature through its network of mature and publicly accessible forests. Currently, there are 14 forested areas in Ohio in the Old-Growth Forest Network and 120 nationwide.
