Following a 35-year career in law enforcement, Wooster Police Officer Matt Cruise is retiring. Cruise, who spent the past four years as the department’s community relations officer, will work his final day on Friday, although he won’t officially retire until the end of January. As a way to say thanks, the department is hosting a drive-thru retirement celebration on Friday, from 11am-1pm, at Freedlander Park. The public’s invited to wave to Cruise from their vehicles and wish him all the best.
