After a decline in revenue and attendance in 2020, the City of Wooster says that the city saw rebounds in both numbers at local pools this past summer. In fact, Wooster saw an attendance increase of nearly 130% at the city’s two pools, Freedlander and Christmas Run. While attendance hasn’t returned the pre-pandemic levels of 2019, Wooster Recreation and Community Center Manager Jeff Battig called summer 2021 a “banner year” and said people were looking forward to the pools being open. Both pools are currently undergoing maintenance and renovation work in preparation for summer 2022.
