The Ashland-West Holmes Joint Vocational School Board of Education will put a 1.1 mil levy on the ballot in November. The levy, which will be a continuous permanent improvement levy, will be used to help with a $45 million expansion project at the school. The school was approved for $10.9 million in state funding for the project but will only get the money if they can raise the local share of the money. Improvements to the HVAC system and handicap accessibility are on tap for the school, but they also want to expand to expand services in the cosmetology, culinary and early childhood education programs at the school.
