Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a creek behind Ashland Cemetery on Monday evening. The Ashland County Coroner’s Office has identified the man as 48-year-old Brent Hayton. Two youths found the body face down in the water and called police at around 5 p.m. on Monday. An investigator with the coroner’s office said that officials are still trying to determine an estimated time of death. Hayton’s body has since been transported to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.
