Former NASA astronaut and Wadsworth native Mike Foreman returned to his hometown this past weekend to celebrate Monday’s total solar eclipse.  Foreman traveled to Wadsworth from Friendswood, Texas, where he has served as that city’s mayor since 2018.  During his time as an astronaut, Foreman logged more than 600 hours in space, including over 32 hours of extravehicular activity during his five spacewalks.  Foreman, who said he was inspired to become an astronaut by people like John Glenn and Neil Armstrong back in the 1960s, hopes that Monday’s eclipse inspires younger pursue to pursue a career in a science-related field.
